My name is Riley Crawford, and I am a from Somerset, Kentucky. I am a sophomore at Western Kentucky University, studying biology and chemistry. After college, I plan to attend medical school.

I found out about Bike4alz from my brother who was a member of the sixth ride. After following along with his journey and to see his impact, I knew that I wanted to eventually do the same. I am excited for this summer and all that God has prepared for ride eight. I am grateful for this opportunity to serve others and eager to be a part of the fight to end Alzheimer’s.

Our mission is to make a difference for those who have connections to this cruel disease. Many of our riders have personal ties to this disease. My childhood babysitter was diagnosed with dementia, and I continue to watch how he has to live with this disease. Just recently my grandmother passed away from dementia. It was painful to see how the disease took away her life even before death. I am riding to not only honor my grandmother, but to one day relieve someone else of the pain she endured. I am riding for the day we won’t need to ride anymore.
